I always thought there was something too good about the village the Smurf’s<\/a> lived in. I know they had Gargamel to contend with but that was manageable, carpet bombing<\/a> on the other hand was unexpected. UNICEF<\/a> has created a marketing campaigned aimed at frightening children<\/strike> raising money and awareness for the UN’s Children fund.<\/p>\n

It opens with the Smurf’s dancing, hand in hand, around a campfire and singing the Smurf song. Bluebirds flutter past and rabbits gambol around their familiar village of mushroom-shaped houses until, without warning, bombs begin to rain from the sky.<\/p>\n

The Smurf’s scatter and run in vain from the whistling bombs, before being felled by \t blast waves and fiery explosions. The final scene shows a scorched and tattered Baby Smurf \t sobbing inconsolably, surrounded by prone Smurf’s.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
