This past Friday Julie<\/a> and I went on a tour of Metropolitan Brewing<\/a>. \u00a0We’ve seen the beers around town for at least the past year (I think Hackney’s<\/a> in Printers’ Row was the first place we had the Flywheel Bright Lager). Metropolitan\u00a0Brewing is a small shop run by three people and an intern in the Ravenswood<\/a> neighborhood of Chicago’s Northside. \u00a0The brewery is setup in an old warehouse and is all contained in one room. \u00a0For the tour, head brewer Doug Hurst, basically walked us around the space explaining their process while we were served beer throughout. Everything is done on site including the bottling and labeling with this machine:<\/p>\n

Throughout the tour we got to taste all three of Metropolitan’s beers<\/a>: \u00a0Flywheel Bright Lager, Krankshaft K\u00f6lsch and Dynamo Copper Lager.<\/p>\n
