{"id":4941,"date":"2011-03-26T11:05:44","date_gmt":"2011-03-26T18:05:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blackhandproductions.com\/?p=4941"},"modified":"2011-03-26T11:11:49","modified_gmt":"2011-03-26T18:11:49","slug":"st-ferdinand-fish-fry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blackhandproductions.com\/?p=4941","title":{"rendered":"St. Ferdinand Fish Fry."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"DSC_0004.JPG by bronder, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bronder\/5561046293\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5012\/5561046293_002c857877.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0004.JPG\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><a title=\"DSC_0005.JPG by bronder, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bronder\/5561046953\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5308\/5561046953_99f1a0b049.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0005.JPG\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><a title=\"DSC_0008.JPG by bronder, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bronder\/5561048249\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5145\/5561048249_1f5576fd89.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0008.JPG\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last night I made my annual trip to a <a title=\"St. Fredinand Church.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.saintferdinand.org\/us_version\/index.php\">Fish Fry<\/a> with <a title=\"chicagometsfan.com\" href=\"http:\/\/chicagometsfan.com\">Julie<\/a> and Todd. \u00a0This year we once again went to <a title=\"St. Ferdinand Parish School.\" href=\"www.saintferdinand.org\/school\/\">St. Ferdinand<\/a> which is in <a title=\"Belmont Central Neighborhood Guide.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chicago.com\/neighborhoods\/Belmont_Central\/\">Belmont Central<\/a>. \u00a0We \u00a0managed to get there early this year so the fish selection was much more varied (I got the perch while Julie and Todd went with the old standby: cod). \u00a0The food as always is not something to brag about but then again that&#8217;s not why we go. \u00a0We go for the atmosphere and the $2 beers. \u00a0This year we grabbed a table closest to the &#8216;bar&#8217; and were rather sure that we were the only ones drinking. \u00a0Either way it went well and I&#8217;m starting to\u00a0<a title=\"Twitter: Julierubes\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/julierubes\/status\/51426255953858560\">make<\/a> a name for myself.<\/p>\n<p>St. Fredinand has a different themed fish fry each Friday night during Lent. \u00a0If you are going to make the trip I highly recommend Elvis Night over all the others. We went on &#8216;Kids Night&#8217; this year due to a scheduling conflict and it wasn&#8217;t quite as good as last year. \u00a0The entertainment consisted of clowns making balloons, a children&#8217;s book fair and 20 games of Bingo.<\/p>\n<p>Like I said, go on <a title=\"Fish Fry Season.\" href=\"http:\/\/blackhandproductions.com\/?p=4113\">Elvis Night<\/a> and you won&#8217;t be
