While on our New England we spent an evening in Portland, Maine to catch the Mets minor league team, the Binghamton Mets<\/a> play the Portland Sea Dogs<\/a> at\u00a0Hadlock Field<\/a>. \u00a0The Sea Dogs are a Red Sox affiliate. \u00a0The stadium was nice and we had decent seats off third base and near the Mets dugout. \u00a0The Mets took the lead early in the 2nd inning off Raul Reyes<\/a>‘ double when\u00a0Salomon Manriquez<\/a>\u00a0scored. \u00a0Manriquez would later play a key part in Julie’s fan experience<\/a>. \u00a0They went on to \u00a0win<\/a>\u00a07-2 making it the only full game I’ve seen the Mets win all season.<\/p>\n

** This is by far the most terrifying mascot in professional sports today. \u00a0For one, just look at him staring at me from across the ball park. \u00a0Second, he’s actually a trash can. \u00a0You are encourage to put garbage in him. \u00a0My understanding is he used to be green and thus named the ‘Green Trash Monster’ after Fenway Park’s Green Monster<\/a>. \u00a0He’s no longer green but his belt buckle still says ‘TM’ so he’s just a Trash Monster. \u00a0Needless to say he is very disturbing.<\/p>\n
