Craft Beer Week: Lagunitas Beer Circus

UntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitledUntitled
This past weekend Julie and I scored a couple of tickets at the last minute to Lagunitas Beer Circus at their Chicago brewery for Chicago Craft Beer Week. I wanted to go just to see the brewery more than anything. The start date for production has been pushed back multiple times so it was good to see it ready to go. Everything at the event was spaced out well, there was a large section for food trucks, several beer stations. Inside the brewery were two stages, one for the Vau de Vire Society and another for a band. They had the normal lineup of beers and some I’ve never had before such as NightTime Ale which was a Double Black IPA.

It’s hard to appreciate the size of Lagunitas’ Chicago operation. I’m not sure how much of the facility we actually got to see but the scale was just massive. The wall and walls of kegs and the four gigantic brew kettles were the largest I’ve seen outside of Miller-Coors facility in Milwaukee.

* Julie and I weren’t able to stay for the full duration of Lagunitas Beer Circus because of Game One of the Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals.
