Good Sign.

With my first ever train ride less than a week away and today I get good news that a train here in town has derailed. I’m thinking this is good since this can’t be a frequent event. Here’s some quotes from the still developing story :

Details are sketchy, but the derailment happened along tracks north of Interstate 670. Engineers were reportedly trying to connect two trains when they crashed. Two cars left the track. One of the cars is on its side.

One person who was riding on the train jumped to avoid the impact. That person was transported to a local hospital with a fractured leg.

A second person was injured while running to the crash scene.

I’m waiting on further details to see how the guy running to the scene got hurt…

Kickball: Close Call.

The pictures above are pretty bad but I’m working on the Action/Sports photography. Anyway’s, today’s game was by far the closest for the Continental Office team. We lost our momentum when we rattled off 8 straight runs in the first inning but once you hit eight we learned you must end the inning before the other team faces permanent emotional damage. Once this occurred we never really recovered. We ended up winning 10-6 but for a minute there the score was 8-6 and things were looking bad. Either way we pulled it out and we continue our march towards immortality.

On a side note there was an article in the Wall Street Journal yesterday about Adult Kickball leagues with the following title: Playing Kickball Is Much Less Fun With Adults Involved. I tend to disagree but that’s probably because I believe at age 25 I’ve hit my Peak Kickball playing years.
