Post Missing

I attempted to update this site last night but I couldn’t seem to get a connection since then my iBook has taken a massive shit and I might lose everything. In other words I had a great post written about my fishing adventure but it won’t be added until (and if) I get my iBook back. This on top of the fact that the HDTV is in the shop.

When wonderding aloud via e-mail which went into the Wilderness, Thoreau or Emerson, this was the response that I was looking for:

‘Twas Thoreau my good man…

Maybe your recent weekend excursion at the crick and hopefully knowing that merely 10 days w/o those items cannot emasculate you will allow this meaning to delve a bit deeper:
“Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains.”

~from “Walden”

Because remember, “We do not ride on the railroad; it rides upon us.”

Mr. T: Respect Yo Motha!

This clip of Americana was sent to me by the Berz. It’s a little lesson (& a hell of a tune) by Mr. T about how you should treat your Mother. I hope Mr. T sends this out as a multimedia Mother’s Day card. The funniest line of the song would have to be:

She’s a Queen/Second to none
Take care of Mother/You only get one

Plus check out those shorts. What kind of Camo protection does one get by wearing those?

Shots Fired: Romeo & Juliet in Florida.

A man in Florida has been accused of shooting 6 members of his daughter’s boyfriend’s family. This attack seems to be culmination of a year long feud between the Ortiz (Montagues) and the Riojas (Capulets) of Crescent City, Florida. The feud came to a head when 15 year old Muguel Soliz began dating one of the teenage Riojas:

“All this started because they were dating,” said Melva Ortiz, Miguel’s mother. “I tried to tell him to leave the girl, but you know how kids are.”

Angelica Soliz, a cousin of the victims, said she hid under a bed as people fired guns from the road.

“They were just shooting at us,” said another family member, Maria Ortiz, 22. “We just threw ourselves to the floor, and the people who got shot, they didn’t have a chance.”

The violence had been building for hours. A fight broke out Saturday night among dozens of opposing family members, but the sheriff’s office said there was not enough information for an arrest. Early Sunday, a 911 caller reported people getting shot.

Sweet, sweet, love.
