Worst Device Ever.

The Dlink DWL-520 PCI wifi card is horrible. Absolutly horrible.

I’ve been trying to get it to work on my Windows2000 machine for 2 days now and nothing. I called tech support and they seemed to know how bad it was. Tech support suggested I uninstall and then re-install and then they were amazed at how the config utility didn’t seem to resemble what they thought it should. After checking the date on the driver we noticed it was from March 28th…20002! After checking Google groups I noticed this could quite possibly be the worst wifi card on the market, thank god I didn’t pay money for it.

At least we can all laugh now.

Good times, good times.

Last night the President had a hell of a time with the media. Attending a dinner for the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Association Bush showed a slide show which made fun of the fact that he can’t seem to find WMD.

If he can laugh at it, I sure as hell can too.

The Pledge, History and God.

A Short History of the Pledge of Allegiance:

The Pledge was first published in the September 8th, 1892 issue of The Youth’s Companion having been written by a Socialist Baptist minister Francis Bellamy.

The Pledge of Allegiance as printed in 1892:

I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Changes through the years:

1923: National Flag Conference changed the words “my flag” to “the Flag of the United States of America.”

1954: Congress, after being lobbied by the Knights of Columbus, added the words “under God”.

Commentary:

First why is there a need for a pledge? Second why did Congress have to add ‘Under God” to it anyway’s? It probably had something to do with fighting Godless ‘Communists’ but does it really need to be there? Can’t we pledge allegiance without mentioning your god? We’ll soon find out.

You know what I always say: ‘Real men fight Nazi’s, not Communists.’
