Revolution Brewing: Beer Festival.

IMG_0787.JPGIMG_0776.JPGIMG_0764.JPG

The final event of Chicago Craft Beer Week was the Beer Festival at Revolution Brewing in Logan Square last night.  Each person was given a 4 oz. glass and a listing of all the breweries and their beer.  The unfinished upstairs to Revolution was open so we hung out there most of the evening until we managed to get a decent spot downstairs.  There were a limited amount of food but mainly everyone was there for the beer.  In addition to the wide selection of beer the Four Star Brass Band made an appearance.

The breweries at the event:

  1. Finch’s Beer Company
  2. Revolution Brewing
  3. Half Acre Beer Company
  4. Goose Island Beer Company
  5. Two Brothers Brewing Company
  6. Metropolitan Brewing
  7. Rock Bottom
  8. Piece Brewery & Pizzeria

Yesterday Julie and I headed down to Wrigley Field for the final game in the Cubs – Mets series.  The game started off well enough with Jose Reyes scoring on a combination of a double and a couple of fielding errors, or in my score book an in the park Home Run.  Then RA Dickey fell of the mound and the wheels came off.  Once again we stayed in the lower deck to avoid the wind instead of our purchased upper deck seats.  The stadium was empty but I’m sure that had a lot to do with it being a 45°F Thursday day game.  Either way the Mets once again were defeated 9-3 by the Cub.s

Last night Julie and I weathered the storm to see the Mets victory over the Cubs at Wrigley Field. We decided to sit in a couple of the many empty 200 level seats instead of our upper deck seats, which was key to staying.

** When the rain finally became overwhelming to everyone in the stadium except the Cubs manager Mike Quade they called the game. For some reason, as you can see in the photographs a above, Quade thought the game should go on.
