New Jersey: Pearl Jam 1 of 2.

Pearl JamPearl Jam

Last night I went to the first of two Pearl Jam concerts this summer in New Jersey. The set list was one of the best I’ve heard.

Our seats for the show were pretty good considering our tickets didn’t arrive in the mail until about 5 hours before we left. We were on the first level of the arena, far side from the stage with isle seats which was a huge plus in times of need.

To get to the show you took a bus from New York which was driven by possibly the most indecisive man on the planet. Not what I look for in a city bus driver. I want a man willing to risk the lives of his passengers for little more than the inside lane of the Lincoln Tunnel. Last night I didn’t get that. Instead I got a driver who literally watched a street light change over 3 times before actually passing through. You drive a double bus for god sakes, the world is your sand box!. The bottom picture is an abstract expression of my frustration during the hour-long bus ride (or a really cool view from our seats).

Can't Get No (satisfaction).

Last week in New Zealand Rolling Stones’ lead guitarist, Keith Richards fell out of a coconut tree. I want that to sink in… Kieth Richards FELL OUT OF A COCONUT TREE. Details about this incedent are sketchy but the New Zealand’s Sunday Star-Times has reported that after the fall Keith jumped on a jetski and proceeded to crash that as well. As expected, many fans have gathered outside the hospital where Keith is being treated to wish him well:

“Nobody likes falling from a height like that, but he’s never fallen from grace for me,” Dave Buchanan told the Sunday Star-Times.

I can’t say I’m suprised by this but if there had to be a Rock Icon that was going to fall from a coconut tree you knew it was going to be Keith Richards.

On a side note Keith Richards is invincible

Spoon w/OK GO at the Newport.

Last night kyle and I went to the Newport to see Spoon for $5. It was a pretty good show, worth more than $5 by far. The opening band was OK GO which weren’t so good (maybe just OK). The best part of OK GO’s show was at the end they played their new single via the house system and the band broke out in synchronized dance. It was pretty funny.

Spoon sounded really good, there wasn’t much interaction with the crowd but they played threw most of their songs during the night. The lead singer for Spoon, Britt Daniel, did look a lot like a young Gary Busey.
