To Freak or Not to Freak?

Principal Bennett of Lemoore Union High School in California has thrown down the gauntlet and demanded and end to all Freak Dancing. Bennett pulled a trick out of the 1980’s (ala Footlose the film) and threatened the students last month here is where CNN picks up the story:
Bennett told the students either quit dirty dancing or face the possibility of not dancing at all. But he said the students continued “freak dancing,” a form of sexually suggestive dancing that involves grinding the hips and pelvic area.
The ban on dances includes the school’s Sadie Hawkins dance in February and the junior and senior proms in the spring, but Bennett said they could be rescheduled if students modify their behavior.

I think the principal should stop acting like the Nazi’s in Swing Kids and just let them dance.

I supported the decision to enter Afghanistan and I hoped that the seriousness of the times would bring forth strength, humility and wisdom in our leaders. Instead, we dived headlong into an unnecessary war in Iraq, offering up the lives of our young men and women under circumstances that are now discredited. We ran record deficits, while simultaneously cutting and squeezing services like afterschool programs. We granted tax cuts to the richest 1 percent (corporate bigwigs, well-to-do guitar players), increasing the division of wealth that threatens to destroy our social contract with one another and render mute the promise of “one nation indivisible.”
