Yesterday after spending the entire day in line at the Willis Tower we jumped on the train and headed to US Cellular Field for the White Sox – Indians game.  Despite being close to 90 degrees most of the evening the wind inside the stadium made everything comfortable.

It was hard to miss a chance to see a Cleveland team lose.

Windy City Rollers

Yesterday I went to see the Windy City Rollers face the Philly Roller Girls at the UIC Pavilion. The Philly girls were leading from the start, but the Windy City Rollers tied the match with less than a minute to go and forced overtime. There were some scoring discrepancies as they took at least 4 points off the board for the Chicago team. In the end Philly won 60-59.

If you’ve never been to a roller derby I highly recommend it. The only awkward moment came when one of the Philly girls got hurt and all 500 people in the arena went silent. The quiet was so intense that you could hear the girl cry out in pain.

Skybox on Sheffield: Cubs – Brewers.

DSC_0196.JPGDSC_0225.JPGDSC_0308.JPGDSC_0331.JPG

Julie managed to track down some rooftop tickets from groupon.com for about $80 so we headed to the Skybox on Sheffield for the Cubs – Brewers game.  I’ve never sat on any of the roof tops until today and the view was much better than I would have thought.  Then again it’s hard to compare to the last time I was at Wrigley Field.  The weather was perfect, the Brewers were terrible and the Cubs hit everything.

** Isn’t this the saddest looking unofficial mascot you’ve ever seen?  I’m pretty sure the Cubs have a restraining order on ‘Billy Cub‘ so he’s not allowed to cross the street and his is forced to endlessly wander around the perimeter of the block.  If you would like to contact ‘Billy Cub’ here’s his email:  billycub78@yahoo.com
