Stickin' it to the Man, Old School Style.

This past weekend concluded the regular season for College Football leaving 3 (some say 4 if you count Utah) schools with a legitimate claim to the number one ranking. Due to the everlasting stupidity of the Bowl Championship Series Auburn will be left out of the National Championship picture leaving USC to face Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. For those who don’t know the BCS has put more emphasis on Human Factor such as the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll. This past weekend a man who has more experience being at the wrong end of the vote stuck it to the system. Joe Paterno, embattled coach of Penn State split his vote three ways giving each team 1/3 of his vote. Paterno who holds two Mythical National Championships has been snubbed more times than not. Paterno has led Penn State to undefeated seasons in 1968, 1969, 1973 and 1994 without a MNC.

NFL, Dungy Hypocrites.

I’m going to guess all the complaints about TO’s MNF short are pouring in from the Red States. This whole thing is a joke. If the NFL is so worried about morality & ethics it should consider ceasing to air all the BONER commercials. And Tony Dungy of the Indianapolis Colts can bite me. He told an ESPN Radio affiliate in Indy that he was worried that his 12 year old son had to watch. Well if he’s so worried why does he allow his son on the sidelines of all the colts games where he can easily be offended by the colts cheerleaders.

Speaking of which, Sara (above) is the Colts Cheerleader of the Week. You can find more about Sara here.

Trouble on the Horizon for Ohio State.

Maurice The Beast Clarett has spoken out about alleged misconduct by the Ohio State Athletic Department. Clarett names OSU Coach Jim Tressel and his brother Dick with helping arrange cars & cash:

Clarett says that while he was at Ohio State in 2002 and 2003 head coach Jim Tressel, as well as certain members of his staff and boosters, provided him with improper benefits. He says he covered up Tressel’s improprieties during the NCAA investigation and afterward, Ohio State “blackballed” him from the football program.

According to Clarett, Tressel arranged loaner cars for him and Tressel’s brother, Dick, found him lucrative landscaping jobs that he did not even have to show up for. He says members of Tressel’s staff also introduced him to boosters who’d slip him thousands of dollars, and the better he played, the more cash he’d receive. He says boosters eventually began inviting him into their homes or would meet him out in the community.

“When you’d leave, [the booster] sets you straight,” Clarett told The Magazine. “They say, ‘You got any money in your pocket?’ They make sure your money’s straight.”

Tressel and OSU Athletic Director are scheduled to speak around noon today about the matter. Meanwhile ESPN’s SportCenter will have more info at 6pm tonight and Sunday’s OutSide the Line’s.
