Speaking of Holograms.

Was there really a purpose behind the use of Holograms by CNN?  I’m thinking it was a ratings Hail Mary if there ever was one.  I did find it amusing that CNN’s hologram technology is no better than R2D2’s.  And of course CNN refers to it as a “Human Hologram” as opposed to the “Dragon Hologram” that FOXNEWS was using later in the evening.

$700 Billion Man (Lex Luthor)

Does anyone else find it just a little bit odd that the one man solely responsible for spending $700 Billion is a dead ringer for Lex Luthor?  Neel Kashkari, the Treasury’s assistant secretary for international affairs has been chosen to lead the $700 Billion economic rescue effort.  Now I’m not questioning Kashkari’s (Lex Luther) age, though it is a mere 35 years, I am question his striking resemblance to a diabolic megalomaniac hell bent on world domination.

Another minus in my book is the fact that he worked with NASA on the James Webb Space Telescope.  Now putting aside the fact that I despise NASA, this guy actually helped develop something that looks a hell of a lot like a space laser.

Actual sketch from NASA.

To recap:

  1. Free reign over $700 Billion
  2. 35 years old
  3. Looks like Lex Luthor
  4. Worked for NASA
  5. Has experience building Space Telescope that just so happens to look like a giant Laser.

I’m just saying… this seems like a bad idea.

Weekend in New York.

After another shitty experience with American Airlines I made my 12 hour journey to New York on Friday.  I feel like I acomplished a lot:

  1. Pastries from Gian & Piero Bakery in Astoria.
  2. Multiple rounds of beer at McSorley’s.
  3. A burger at Ted’s.
  4. Wings at Croxley’s.
  5. Picked up a Wii Fit at the Nintendo World Store.

Friday evening I met up with Josh & Emily at the Nintendo Wold Store and then we headed down to McSorley’s where waited for the infamous Jim Wallis to arrive.  Things were a little more low key this time around at McSorley’s but then again everyone’s a year older.  We moved on to the Telephone Bar and then called it a night.

*Side Note:  For those wondering Jim’s black eye did not occur at McSorley’s.
