Moving Party at the Galway Hooker

Tanya Harding Card from Amy.Nik and Julie.

Last night Julie and I had our ‘Going Away Party’ at Galway Hooker with several friends. There was a good turnout and we had most of the upstairs bar to ourselves. There were a couple shots, a lot of talk about football, and a lot of strategizing about how to pack a large truck (the only common thread is to fill the truck up to the top).

Thanks to everyone for coming out. I’m sure we will see many of you soon enough, be it here or in Chicago. Thanks for the good times.

Our Move will be thoroughly documented in the coming days, as I write this I’m completely surrounded by cardboard boxes stacked 4 feet tall. Wish us luck.

Chicago Trip (ie Pizza).

Julie and I went to Chicago for the weekend.  As you can see any time I stop in Chicago there must be a meal of the best pizza man has ever created; Giordano’s.  Last time I drove to and from Chicago in a day for a slice of heaven, this time we made a weekend of it.

Side Note:
* In the photograph above I am completely in my element.  Blue dress shirt, non-matching random t-shirt, pitcher of beer, and the best pizza on the planet.

The Cook's Visit New York.

Nick and Shelia Cook at Rockefeller Center.

This past week The Cook’s came out to visit and take in the City. Their trip, which covered more groud during than I have in nearly 8 months, included three of the five Boroughs of New York City. While not working, Julie and I had dinner with them at Heartland Brewery at the Empire State Building and Dee’s in Queens (which just so happens to be my favorite Italian place ever).

The Cook’s took the form of travel favored in the 19th Century… the Rails. Granted they didn’t excatly travel like a commoner in their upgraded ‘Sleeper Car‘. But they took the road less traveld nonetheless.
