Bush: Iraq is better off than America…

The last couple of days have been a turning point for the Kerry campaign. After the President used the puppet Leader of the New Iraq to further his lies on what is really happening on the ground, Kerry has issued a quick response to everything the President has said this week.

The following ad has a portion of the press conference from Thursday in the White House Rose Garden. You remember, the one where the president says:

“I saw a poll that said the right-track/wrong-track is better in Iraq than here in America.”

    • This is what the Election is about:

    The invasion of Iraq was a profound diversion from the battle against our greatest enemy ­ Al Qaeda — which killed more than three thousand people on 9/11 and which still plots our destruction today. And there’s just no question about it: the President’s misjudgment, miscalculation and mismanagement of the war in Iraq all make the war on terror harder to win. Iraq is now what it was not before the war ­ a haven for terrorists. George Bush made Saddam Hussein the priority. I would have made Osama bin Laden the priority. As president, I will finish the job in Iraq and refocus our energies on the real war on terror.

    Yesterday Secretary of War Defense Donald Rumsfield suggested that some elections are better than no elections when it comes to Iraq.

    “Let’s say you tried to have an election and you could have it in three-quarters or four-fifths of the country. But in some places you couldn’t because the violence was too great,” Rumsfield said, hours after the leaders of the United States and Iraq met in Washington.

    “Well, so be it. Nothing’s perfect in life, so you have an election that’s not quite perfect. Is it better than not having an election? You bet,” he said.

    So say in on November 2nd the people in Idaho, New Jersey and Ohio aren’t allowed to vote. Do you think the people of the United States would consider the winner of the election to be the actual leader of the election? You thought it was bad in 2000, imagine 3/4 an election in Iraq imposed by an occupying power…

    CIA's best guess no longer good enough.

    Yesterday the President said the CIA’s Report on Iraq was just a guess.

    “The CIA laid out several scenarios. It said that life could be lousy, life could be OK, life could be better. And they were just guessing as to what the conditions might be like,” Bush told reporters during a picture-taking session with Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi. “The Iraqi citizens are defying the pessimistic predictions,” Bush said.

    “The American people have seen horrible scenes on our TV screens. And the prime minister will be able to say to them that in spite of the sacrifices being made, in spite of the fact that Iraqis are dying, and U.S. troops are dying as well, that there is a will among the Iraqi people to succeed.”

    If only the President would have told us the CIA was just guessing about the Weapons of Mass Destruction everyone would be home by now.
