10,000 Reasons Civilization is Doomed.

Over at www.10000reasons.org you can join in on the listing of reasons why civilization is certainly doomed. The point of the site:

This is a list that is started by the people, aggregated by the people and an offering to all people everywhere that want to take solace in a list that proves that we are not being fooled. Rather, we are on to all the bullshit out there and want to make it clear to anyone that adds to this list that you, too, can take comfort in like-minded individuals that have come together to express the 10,000 Reasons Civilization is Doomed. Perhaps if we are heard, some of the doom can be deterred.

My favorite reasons so far:

  • Reason #3154: The fact that I need to get a part-time job to pay for gas to get to my full time job.
  • Reason #3170: People thinking they’re the “Good Guys”.

    • I added the following (not sure if it will make the list but it should):

    The Crocodile Hunter was killed by a stingray.

    New look, Old feel.

    If you’re wondering, yes things look a little different. I’m working on this new layout which hopefully will make things a little eaiser and a little more interactive. The two new things (besides the look) are the ‘Comments’ section and the ‘Search’.

    First, the Search field will actually work. Unlike before. Pretty simple. It will search the entire site or you can search via Category (another new feature). And when you search you’ll actually get results.

    Second, the ‘Comments’ feature will allow you to leave your two cents worth at the bottom of my posts. Not sure how that will turn out but hopefully it will get pretty amusing.

    Other things:

    This whole redesign thing, bascially came about by moving the site over to a new server as opposed to having the site at onesmallstepband.com/bronder. This move will allow me to put up a lot more content in a more organized way as well attempt to do some streaming video and other cool shit.

    In the next couple days I’ll be reposting all the archives from the old site.

    Just plain wierd. Ken Jennings’ open letter to Jeopardy:

    Dear Jeopardy!,

    Hey, I hope you remember me. It’s been a while since we talked. We were a bit of an item a couple years back, in all the papers, but I think we both know that was just a summer thing. The last time we saw each other… well, the magic just wasn’t there. That’s why I don’t mind when I see you with a new special someone. Or two. Nearly every night! I’m sorry, is this sounding passive-aggressive? I don’t mean to badger you. I remember that, when we were together, it seems like all I ever did was nag you with questions.

    You can read the rest here but it’s just fucking wierd. How can one question Jeopardy’s lameness when one is Ken Jennings. I’m not really talking about the fact that he wouldn’t be anything without Jeopardy, but more the fact the Ken actually sells a board game such as this:

    I guess when someone wins a over a million dollars on television they can create their own board game. I personally wouldn’t but then again I didn’t just rip Jeopardy for being lame.
