Wrigleyville SummerFest – 2007.

Yesterday evening Julie and I headed out to the Wrigleyville SummerFest to check out some quality live music. What we got was beyond description. We watched Two White Crew’s whole set and then caught more than my share of Elevation. Two White Crew were more than amusing. They played pretty much every song from every High School party I ever attended and they ended their set with Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back.

*Side Note: Elevation on the other hand was pretty hard to watch. Lead singer Daniel Burrow actually believes he is Bono. In the 20 minutes we were there he changed costumes twice, climbed the speaker stand once while wearing the American flag and actually referred to the guitarist as Edge. Speaking of The Edge, he must have had 5 different guitars on stage just in case (the picture below was borrowed from myphotoalbum.com).

Bono?

I got to see The Police at Wrigley Field last night (one of two shows at the stadium). Julie and I hung out before hand at The Dark Horse, scouting out the legendary Steelers bar until. We had a couple drinks until we got word from Dom that Sting and his reluctant friends took the stage. We ended up buying tickets outside the stadium for $60 each which wasn’t too bad. I think we only ended up missing 3 songs. The show was good, I could have went without all the “Eeeee-yo!”‘ from Sting but I guess that’s the price you have to pay for a Police Reunion Tour.

Now it’s on to Lollapalooza.
