Best Football Movie.

Last night I watched All The Right Moves, the best football movie ever made. Here’s the summary from Wikipedia:

When you live in a dying mill town, the only way to move up in the world is to move out. In Ampipe, Pennsylvania, that’s exactly what a lot of people are trying desperately to do. But it’s not an easy task. Because today, getting ahead takes ALL THE RIGHT MOVES. Tom Cruise heads a brilliant cast of characters making moves—right and wrong—to buy themselves a brighter future: There’s Craig T. Nelson as a high school football coach fighting to parlay a winning team into a big-time position—away from the town he despises. There are the team members themselves, young and bright, competing to win a game bigger than football, the game of life. And no one plays the game harder than Stef (Tom Cruise). Finally, there’s Lea Thompson, the girl Stef comes to love, a young woman with her own dream of escape. Together, they successfully capture the high spirits, the fantasy, and the agony of growing up in America.

Not only is this the best Football Movie ever, the trailer contains the best piece of narration in movie history.

Classic.

Lollapalooza 2007 – Day 1.

Eddie Vedder at Wrigley Field.

Before heading down to Lollapalooza Julie and I caught the Mets – Cubs game at Wrigley Field where Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam sang ‘Take me out to the ballpark’. The Mets won 6-2 which means I’m 2 for 3 in Midwest Mets Games.

On to Lollapalooza:

Lollapalooza 2007.

We made it down to the show in time to see The Black Keys and Ben Harper which is all I really wanted to see the first day. I managed to work my way up to the stage, so we had a great spot for both shows. The Black Keys were awesome but as you will see there were camera guys everywhere.

There are only 2 guys in the Black Keys… yet there were 4 camera guys.

Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals were classic. The only part of the show that was bad was when Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam came out and the douchebag camera man decided to sit directly in front of him and right on the stage so no one could see him play. It was just the worst thing I’ve ever seen.Ben Harper.Ben Harper and Eddie Vedder.

Anatomy of The Beerman.

Anatomy of The Beerman.

The man in the photograph above was my Beerman last night and it was my privilege to sit in his section.  He was the absolute professional; as you can tell by his attire.  This Beerman was equipped for any situation, if a play was occurring behind him he could go to one knee in a split second.  If he for some reason was required to dive out of the isle he could brace himself with his right wrist knowing full well it was ready for the task at hand.  If for some reason at the last moment he needed to clear a way out of  section 124 he could do so with his ‘Macgyver’ like shoulder pad.

This was my Beerman.
