Polaroid Christmas Tree.

Polariod.jpg

Last weekend Julie and I made our trip across Ashland to pick out our Christmas Tree and as you can see by its’ awesomeness we did a hell of a job.  If you’re wondering why the couch plays such a prominent role in this photograph it has to do with the important part it plays in our house hold.

Also, I was able to find 3 packs of Polaroid film so we’re all set for the Santa Pub Crawl next Friday.

Side Note:
* The Polaroid Corporation as many of you know ceased production of ‘instant film’ in February 2008 so the world has been hoarding Instant Film ever since. Amazon lists a single 10 exposure pack of Polaroid 600 Instant Film for $39.99.  Lucky for me The Impossible Project is moving forward.

**  And yes, my Polaroid camera has a timer so I was able to take this photograph by myself.

Thanksgiving 2009.

This year Julie and I once again stayed in Chicago for Thanksgiving.  We had some friends over and fried a turkey.  As you can tell be the photograph above we’ve pushed our luck by going with a 13.9 lb turkey.  This was by far the most dangerous frying attempt we’ve ever made.  It took several tense minutes of easing the turkey into the oil to keep the pot from over flowing.  Moving forward we will stick to a 10-12 lb turkey (and I won’t wear flip flops during the frying process).

All of the food turned out great and a good time was had by all.

*** At least it didn’t end this way:  Columbus Dispatch – Turkey fryer ignites, spoiling family’s holiday.

3rd Annual Santa Pub Crawl Invite.

Once again it’s that time of year for the old man to put on the boots and head out for a jolly good time. You’re invited to Santa’s Pub Crawl on Friday, December 11th. The route is set and we plan to navigate Southport starting at Southport Lanes at 8pm and head North as far as we get. Santa plans to bring along a helper with a Polaroid camera and enough film for everyone who wants one. I know, you may be thinking how does Santa have Polaroid film as they stopped producing instant film in 2008?

Well, the answer is obvious: Elves.

Santa would prefer you to buy him a beer or two because he has all those damn kids to worry about in a couple weeks and teaching Elves to manufacture instant film has been a managerial feat to say the least.

Please use the comments to let me know if you plan to take part.
