Last night a group of us witnessed the inaugural performance of Flatbed Orange with Nick Barbone on vocals. The show was pretty good and the Cubby Bear wasn’t so bad. The sound was better than expected and the lighting was pretty impressive.
Now the performance of the headliner, Indignant, was another story all together. They were clearly filming this concert for some reason or another. I firmly believe this because videographer used the ‘wheel camera’ device that allowed him the flexibility to ‘capture the moment’. To say he was ‘over the top’ would be to underestimate the level of seriousness to which he takes his job. This man was an artist surrounded by his medium.
I can’t wait to see the DVD.
He’s Batman.
Bronder, did you get any other pictures of your friend Nick and his new band? I love Scott Stapp Jr. and his merry band of zany photodocumentarianists, but come on guy…
Ha, I did but they were either very similar to the photograph I published or very bad. The lighting was not great unless I was really close or focused on one person. Hence the plethora of shots of the videographer from Indignant.
I need a new camera… an SLR.
Well I had a couple other ones but they were all basically the same shot. I’ll list some excuses now:
1. The lighting was bad (lots of red)
2. I need a better camera (SLR)
3. The videographer for Indignant was a really compelling subject to document. I mean seriously… look at that guy. Could he have been more into the task at hand?
#1: come on dude.
#2: seriously dude?
#3: were there 2 stages? were the bands playing at the same time? why couldn’t you have intensely focused on both acts? one thing’s for sure, Indignant’s probably got some kick ass film…
