A dispute over a tree stand ended in a shootout on opening day of Hunting Season yesterday in Wisconsin. Apparently a hunting party came upon their tree stand to find a rogue hunter not willing to give up the spot without a fight. The man in the stand began shooting at the party eventually killing 5 and wounding three more:

Bill Wagner, 72, of Oshkosh told reporters “When you’re hunting you don’t expect somebody to try to shoot you and murder you. You have no idea who is coming up to you. We’re all old, dyed-in-wool hunters we wouldn’t go home because of this but we will keep it in our minds.”

The lesson here is to never sit in another man’s tree stand. And to think people thought the Pacers/Pistons game got crazy.
