To all the people stealing my Lady Gaga Photographs…

IMG_7012.JPG

Turns out Lady Gaga is much more popular than when I saw here at Lollapalooza back in 2007.  The photo above has been viewed on Flickr 58,920 times.  I have more than 4,000 photos on Flickr and it is by far the most popular.  Which leads me to this:

STOP STEALING MY LADY GAGA PHOTOGRAPHS.

At the very least give me some credit.  I spent three ungodly hot days one weekend to witness what now sees to be a historic performance according to my Flickr stats.  Check the links below for some exapmles of this theft.  My favorite is the last one which is clearly written in Sanskrit.

Also, Ted Burke you should know better.  To sum up my frustration I will quote from one of your poems:

Each unused piece of the puzzle
falls to the floor
as we make room for fruit drinks
and places to rest our elbows,

Skybox on Sheffield: Cubs – Brewers.

DSC_0196.JPGDSC_0225.JPGDSC_0308.JPGDSC_0331.JPG

Julie managed to track down some rooftop tickets from groupon.com for about $80 so we headed to the Skybox on Sheffield for the Cubs – Brewers game.  I’ve never sat on any of the roof tops until today and the view was much better than I would have thought.  Then again it’s hard to compare to the last time I was at Wrigley Field.  The weather was perfect, the Brewers were terrible and the Cubs hit everything.

** Isn’t this the saddest looking unofficial mascot you’ve ever seen?  I’m pretty sure the Cubs have a restraining order on ‘Billy Cub‘ so he’s not allowed to cross the street and his is forced to endlessly wander around the perimeter of the block.  If you would like to contact ‘Billy Cub’ here’s his email:  billycub78@yahoo.com

Fourth of July BBQ.

IMG_0173.JPGIMG_5223.JPG

Yesterday was our second annual Fourth of July BBQ and once again I spent the better part of the day smoking ribs.  This year we changed things up a little bit.  We didn’t use nearly as much rub (Dinosaur BBQ’s Cajun Foreplay Spice Rub) and we also smoked the ribs for a longer time (6.5 hours).  This made a huge difference in my opinion.  The ribs were much more tender and the taste from the rub wasn’t over the top.  When the ribs were done smoking I put them in foil and covered them with Dinosaur BBQ’s Sensuous Slathering Sauce and then threw them back on the grill for about another hour.  For table side sauce we tried some new stuff from Rufus Teague which was great.

Despite raining the entire day the weather let up around 7pm which was perfect.  We had a good showing and we might have finished off the bottle of Singleton.  A good time was had by all.
