This past Friday I kicked Chicago Craft Beer Week off with Half Acre‘s event at Montrose Beach. Half Acre had the majority of their beers along with some other craft beers from around the country. There was food the Belly Shack and Big Star but the line for food was too much for me so I stuck to the beer. Two of my favorite beers of the night were Three Floyd’s Samurai Gazebo and Big Sky Brewing Company’s Scape Goat Pale Ale. I though the beer labeling could have been done better so you know which taps were which instead of getting up to the counter and having to ask each time but other than that it was a great night.

The entertainment for the night was Jesse White’s Tumblers. For those who don’t know Jesse White is the former Illinois Secretary of State and he runs a gymnastic team. They were pretty impressive.
